Following the Peace Corps, and for the next 15 years, Mr. Hildt gained financial and management experience by marketing and selling a variety of credit, non-credit, and investment products, domestically and internationally, with J. Henry Schroder Bank and Trust Company and Marine Midland Bank, in New York City, where he managed a group of finance specialists.
Upon relocating to the Boston area in 1986, Mr. Hildt has: consulted with the Bank of Boston, served as a member of KPMG’s (Peat Marwick) Financial Institutions Consulting Practice, developed significant new business for two human resources consulting organizations, coached many professionals and executives, and conducted numerous search assignments spanning a variety of industry segments.
Mr. Hildt founded Essex Consulting Group in 1998.
He is a past President and a past Board Member of Boston’s Human Resources Council. He is also a Charter Member of the New England Council for the Wildlife Conservation Society (formerly known as The New York Zoological Society). Mr. Hildt also has recently served on the boards of the Essex Shipbuilding Museum, and Hamilton-Wenham Youth Soccer Association. Mr. Hildt is a member of the Boston chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. He has also served as an invited "coach" for start-up enterprises under the auspices of the Center For Women and Enterprise - the Access to Capital Forum. Most recently (2008), Mr. Hildt has been invited to join the Friends Board of the Northshore Education Consortium
Mr. Hildt lives in Essex, Massachusetts with his wife, Elizabeth (Senior Vice President of the Quebec-Labrador Foundation), son, and two dogs. When he has spare time, Mr. Hildt is working on the script for a play, in addition to numerous other interests.
